Roger Federer won Wimbledon for the first time in 2003, just after the publication of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The craze for Harry was at its height and it seemed that Federer had stepped out of the pages to play with a racket bought at Ollivanders in Diagon Alley, the place where Harry got his wand.
Things are tougher for Federer these days, and tougher than they ever were for Harry. Harry only took on the forces of evil, and that’s an opponent that gets a pasting in all the good stories.
