The Los Angeles Lakers have made Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and the No. 4 overall draft pick available in trade talks with the New Orleans Pelicans centered on Anthony Davis, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.
While talks are just taking shape, it appears the Lakers are trying to keep Kyle Kuzma out of a potential deal with the Pelicans. However, the Pelicans want Kuzma as part of any package involving Davis, per the Los Angeles Times.
Both the Lakers and Boston Celtics are engaged in talks with the Pelicans, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported.
Davis requested a trade in January and his preferred destinations are said to be the Lakers or New York Knicks. His agent, Rich Paul, indicated in a Sports Illustrated story that Davis does not want to go to the Celtics.
Davis will become an unrestricted free agent in July 2020 and any team that trades for him would risk losing him after one season. It is believed, however, he would make his intentions clear to re-sign with the Lakers or Knicks.
The Lakers reportedly offered their entire young core of Ball, Kuzma, Ingram and Josh Hart, as well as multiple draft picks, for Davis in February.
